About Us

Hi I’m Karen the designer/maker behind Karen Knits. I have a degree in Fashion and Textiles and my background is designing knitwear garments for big high street and designer brands. This is my first solo collection of knitted accessories. I love working in high quality lambswool as it is super soft and there are a great range of colours available. My yarn is sourced from a traditional Scottish mill that uses modern sustainable methods to make the most environmentally conscious wool. The knitting machine I use is powered by hand with no electricity so it's a true slow fashion design and making process.  The pieces should last for a long time if treated well and washed gently.  Lambswool is also great for sensitive skin and temperature regulation.  

The design inspiration often comes from traditional British, Irish and Scandinavian works with a modern twist.  I love geometric shapes and fairisle patterns.
